Still in danger

Total darkness.

A dirty cell and the metallic tang of blood struck me the moment I opened my eyes.

I didn’t want to imagine where I was or who had taken me but there was an idea in my head. Finally the fools captured me.

The Alpha of the Red Moon Pack , Kane did won.

The reality of my situation hit me like a wave. My body ached, and my mind raced, trying to make sense of how I ended up here. Kane’s warriors, merciless, ruthless, and precise. They chased me and I ran away so how did they finally catch me?!

The last thing I recalled doing was fighting them unfortunately maybe the Alpha’s warriors won and they finally captured me.

Alpha Kane had me. Finally he succeeded in capturing me. I was running from Torin now here I was in danger.

I was in his pack’s cell with my hands tied together.

The ropes dug into my wrists the moment I tried to break free. My hands were tied behind my back therefore every time I stood up, I fell back on the ground without any hope.

Shit!

I shifted slightly, trying once more to test the strength of the ropes binding my wrists. They didn’t give. They were tight, expertly knotted, the fibers biting into my skin with every movement. Whoever tied me up knew exactly what they were doing.

I tried again and again but every movement only caused the fibers to dig deeper into my skin, leaving raw, stinging marks. My feet, bound tightly together, left me immobile, unable to even crawl.

Closing my eyes, I forced myself to focus. Panic wouldn’t help me; it never had. I’d been in dire situations before none quite like this but I’d survived them. I would survive this too.

The cell was deathly silent, save for the faint drip of water from somewhere unseen. The damp air clung to me, making it harder to breathe. I twisted again, this time trying to feel for anything sharp, anything I could use to cut through the ropes.

Nothing.

The minutes dragged on, stretching into what felt like hours. The weight of exhaustion began to press down on me, threatening to pull me under. Just as I felt myself slipping, the faint sound of approaching footsteps snapped me back to attention.

My senses sharpened, adrenaline coursing through my veins when the heavy boots echoed against the stone floor, their rhythm deliberate and measured. My pulse quickened as the sound grew louder, closer. Then the heavy iron door creaked open, flooding the cell with dim torchlight.

The Alpha’s second in command stepped inside.

He was every bit as imposing as I remembered—tall, broad-shouldered, and radiating an air of dominance that made the air feel heavier. His dark eyes locked onto mine, a cruel smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Well,” he drawled, his deep voice echoing in the confined space. “I finally caught the stubborn togue. Tell me, was the chase worth it?”

I glared at him, refusing to show fear. “Is that what you call it? A chase? Looked more like desperation to me.”

His smirk faded, replaced by a cold, calculating stare. “Careful,” he warned, crouching to my level. “You’re in no position to provoke me.”

I leaned forward as much as my bindings would allow, meeting his gaze head-on. “Do your worst, bastard. You’ll regret not killing me when you had the chance.”

His laugh was low and humourless. “Oh, I don’t think so. You see, you’re much more valuable to me alive. The Alpha wants to see then he will reward me”

The implication behind his words sent a shiver down my spine, but I didn’t flinch. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. Instead, I held his gaze, silently vowing that no matter what he planned, I would find a way to escape and when I did, I’d make him pay.

“So you enjoying your little victory?”, I asked.

He chuckled at my question, a deep, rumbling sound that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

“Oh, this isn’t a victory, rogue. Not yet. That comes later after your death.” Stepping closer, he crouched down to my level, his gaze locking onto mine. “You’ve been a thorn in my side throughout this night", he said, his tone soft but laced with menace. “But now, I finally have you where you deserve to be. The Alpha really has to appreciate me”

I leaned forward as much as the ropes would allow, meeting his gaze with defiance. “You don’t have me where I deserve to be you bastard, Not really. And you never will.”

His smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, replaced by something darker. He reached out, his hand gripping my chin with just enough force to remind me of his strength.

“You’re bold,” He said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll give you that. But boldness won’t save you. Not here. The Alpha will surely deal with you.” He released me abruptly, standing to his full height. “Enjoy your stay, rogue,” he said, turning toward the door. “It won’t be long now.” He added while brushing non-existent dust off his hands.

“Trust me, the Alpha may even kill you himself”,

He turned on his heel and left, the heavy door slamming shut behind him. The closure of the door immediately plunged the cell back into darkness.

“Alpha kane?!”

Meeting him?!

My heart pounded as I leaned against the wall, the reality of his words sinking in.

I was running out of time. And if I didn’t find a way out of here soon, there would be no escape. I had known this day might come, but I never thought it would happen like this and I knew it that Alpha Kane won’t spare my life.

A faint sound reached my ears again, a steady drip of water somewhere in the distance. It was the only noise aside from my ragged breathing. The silence was oppressive, pressing down on me like a weight. I needed a plan, and I needed it fast but my exhausted limbs didn’t allow me.

The eye lids were starting to close by themselves.
